Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment of hourly/salary employees while maintaining compliance with federal and provincial regulations concerning employment.
  • Investigates references and handles details of employee orientation, and on-boarding
  • Participates in disciplinary and termination action of employees
  • Ensure timely completion of accident and incident reports, keep records of the same.
  • Liaison with fire safety consultants on safety issues including fire evacuation procedure and drills to be completed as necessary.
  • Plan, organized, and schedules plant training including 1st Aid, Handling equipment, WHIMS, and OHSA, health and safety training as required.
  • Ensure schedule, attendance and record keeping of regular Health and Safety committee meetings.
  • Schedule and provide agenda to participating managers for monthly employee meetings

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Three (2) to five (5) years of experience in automotive manufacturing personnel-related activities
  • Excellent problem solving techniques and methods
  • Ability to coach employees at all levels through difficult situations, ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve issues using judgement consistent with the organizations preferences and priorities
  • Ability to speak and present effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive
  • Computer skills in the area of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with TS16949/ISO14001 systems an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
