Job Summary:

Guides, assists and supports co-workers; performs set ups and operates a CNC routing machine to cut slots, grooves, designs, or recesses in panels.
Duties & Responsibilities:

•Promotes cooperation and positive communication with co-workers.
•Assists supervisor/leadperson with the preparation and organization of work schedules.
•Maintains an adequate supply of tools and hardware supplies, as needed.
•Updates and edits programs to include anchor stops and locating holes for far side routing.
•Investigates all changes to panel programs prior to their release to production.
•Ensures that routing programs are written to minimize waste of raw materials.
•Lifts, positions, and removes panels from machines or assembly area.
•Studies engineering drawings, samples, and written specifications to confirm size, depth, and location of cuts to be made.
•Selects and installs router bits in spindle chucks according to specifications.
•Nails panel to jig, inserts pin in guide-hole of machine table, and places jig over guide pin, on movable table of machine.
•Starts machine to feed panel into rotating bit.
•Moves panel under bit, following guidelines, lines, or slots in jig, to cut specified slots, designs, grooves, or recesses in stock panel.
•Arranges routed panels for assembly per engineering drawing and work order instructions.
•Keeps production panels labeled and organized in the work area.
•Picks up and trucks scrap from work areas.
•Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
•Verifies unit dimensions and insert placement prior to sending panel to bonding.
•Works at different workstations as production needs require.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

•Able to teach, guide and direct other assemblers who may need assistance.
•Able to interpret engineering drawings and teach co-workers how to interpret them.
•Able to read and use a tape measure and caliper.
•Able to self-inspect personal work and correct discrepancies in a timely manner.
•Able to effectively control and manipulate various pneumatic and hand tools such as drills, hammer, screwdrivers, clamps, pliers, knives and razorblades.
•Understands the concept of utilizing work orders.
•Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
•Demonstrated proficiency in conducting an effective meeting.
•Must meet or exceed current training requirements.
•Willing to be available to assist in other areas of the company, as directed by lead or supervisor.
